About the founder

Scott Ferry, raised in Chicago, was first introduced to the beauty industry at the age of 9 after watching advanced training videos of Trevor Sorbie. Intrigued, enlightened, and inspired, Scott knew that the beauty industry was meant to be. After meeting the founder of Aveda (Horst Rechelbacher) at age 13, he went on to Aveda Institute after highschool in 1993 (at the time it was called Horst Education Center).

From beauty school in Minnesota, Scott traveled back to his hometown in Chicago to pursue a degree in computer science at Depaul University. Driven by passion for both the beauty industry and computers he developed a website called SalonApprentice.com (dedicated to finding models for advanced training). Because of the success of this website, Scott wanted to develop another website dedicated to the recruitment and career placement for future professionals - it is called SimplyBeautySchools.com. Both websites are run under Satvua, Inc.

As a licensed professional, Scott Ferry is dedicated to the advancement, education, and prosperity of the beauty industry. Get involved and spread the word - let SimplyBeautySchools.com engage and inspire our future professionals!

With the support of thousands of salon owners and licensed professionals, SimplyBeautySchools.com is Simply leading the way for our future professionals - find out why we have been quoted as being "The FaceBook for Beauty School Students".
